It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Silvia Pong, at age 92. Surrounded by her loved ones, she passed away on Friday, 9/12/25, at 7:40pm. She was a dialysis patient for over six years and had issues with her heart, but she is finally at peace and reunited with her late husband, Wai.
Silvia was a strong, fierce woman who left China on her own as a young adult and put herself through nursing school in Hong Kong. She spent the next 20 years working as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife before immigrating to the US, making Staten Island her home for nearly five decades. She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa and Wendy, son-in-law, Chris, and two grandchildren, Allison and Ryan.
