A Special Tribute for Thomas Hughes
Support a cause that's close to my heart
Thomas Hughes
Tom Hughes had many roles: a husband, father of five girls, grandfather of ten, big brother, uncle, friend, Chicago Fire Fighter and he was a kidney disease survivor. After just over two years of dialysis, he was gifted a kidney from a family member. For two years and ten months Tom enjoyed freedom from dialysis and cherished moments with his family and friends. We lost Tom on July 8, 2022. We created this page in his memory.
Please consider making a special gift to honor the life of Tom Hughes and support a cause that was close to his heart. Your gift ensure that others won’t have to suffer.
Kidney disease diagnosis is overwhelming, the journey is often long and difficult. NKF is a source of hope and comfort for families like ours, place to turn in their darkest hour.
Your generosity will fund the fight to:
- Expand access to home dialysis and kidney transplants for all Americans.
- Increase funding for kidney disease research
-Identify and eliminate kidney health disparities
Every gift, no matter how small, is meaningful to the Hughes family and will ensure that Tom’s legacy can live on in this important work. We are so grateful for your support to help fight kidney disease.
Thank you.
