Patricia (Patty) Carrozza

Honoring Patricia (Patty) Carrozza

Patricia Grace Carrozza passed away on November 6, 2025, after a ten-year battle with kidney disease. Her fierce fighting spirit never wavered; she met each obstacle head-on with strength and an unshakable belief that she could overcome it. She refused to let illness define her life or dim the light she brought into the world.

Patty’s life was one of joy and love. Family was always at the center, focused on raising her children, being a wonderful mom, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, or, most joyous of all, as a grandmother affectionately called Nanny.

Those who knew Patty will remember her as a fun-loving soul whose laughter came easily and whose kindness touched everyone around her. She had a remarkable ability to see the best in people and made it her mission to celebrate the lives of those she loved. Whether it was a wedding, birthday, anniversary, christening, baby shower, funeral, or any other meaningful gathering, Patty would be there.

While she was defined as so much more than her kidney disease, in the end, she could not overcome the many challenges this illness caused. Heartbreakingly, Patty was close to a transplant on several occasions but additional health complications always got in the way.  Patty’s story, like so many others, illustrates the long and difficult challenge of living with kidney disease. The National Kidney Foundation’s work helps make that journey a little easier for those living with the disease, as well as those who care for and about them.

Over the past two decades, the face of kidney disease has been rapidly evolving. Landmark developments in nephrology have created new approaches to treatment, and groundbreaking information regarding prevention has altered the world’s understanding of the disease. The National Kidney Foundation is leading the way in fighting this disease, leveraging their knowledge and experience to focus on building awareness, increasing prevention, and improving treatment of kidney disease.

Your donation will honor Patty’s battle with kidney disease and spread hope to so many others. It will also help raise vital awareness among people at risk for kidney disease, so they may have the same opportunity to live an amazing life just like Patty.

Every donation is meaningful. We would be grateful for your support to help fight kidney disease through the National Kidney Foundation.
