A Special Tribute for David Lester Fox
Support a cause that's close to my heart
David Lester Fox
My husband recently past away and I created this page in his memory.
I have struggled my entire life with kidney disease, having been born with a congenital defect. Three years into our marriage, I needed a second transplant. Without blinking an eye or catching his breath, David said I could have one of his. I tried to manage his expectations, that it wasn't as simple as him wanting to. There would be a battery of test to ensure we were a match, and that the surgery would not harm his health. He was hearing none of it, convinced it was meant to be. And so it was. In August 2007, he did in fact donate one of his kidneys to me.
NKF is a source of hope and comfort for families like mine – a place to turn in their darkest hour. During my struggle with dialysis, one of their programs helped us pay for health insurance, which was a blessing.
Please consider making a special gift to help me remember David and support a cause that’s close to our hearts.
Your generosity will fund the fight to:
- Expand access to home dialysis and kidney transplants for all Americans.
- Increase funding for kidney disease research
-Identify and eliminate kidney health disparities
Every gift, no matter how small, is meaningful to me and will ensure that his legacy can live on in this important work. I would be so grateful for your support to help fight kidney disease.
Thank you.
