A Special Tribute for Barbara Jean Pellegrino
Support a cause that's close to my heart
Barbara Jean Pellegrino
Barbara “Jean” Pellegrino passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2022, at the age of 93.
Jean was an interior decorator in the Panama City area for many years. She is fondly remembered for her community service, where she was named “Woman of the Year” by Beta Sigma Phi for her efforts in establishing the Panama City Kidney Foundation and the area’s first kidney dialysis center. In 1981, she married Vincent L. Pellegrino, the love of her life at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Jean was involved in the early development of the Seaside Community in Seaside, FL, and founded her own real estate firm, JP Properties. In 1988, she relocated to the Atlanta area to be closer to her daughters and granddaughter, all of whom she cherished very much.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Vincent and daughters Beverly Murphy (Atlanta, GA) and Jeannie Keller (Knoxville, TN). She is survived by daughter Sharon Hess (Alpharetta, GA) and her granddaughter, Kristina Hess (Alpharetta, GA). She will be missed by loving family in Knoxville, TN, and Dallas, TX.
At her request, no memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in her name
Your generosity will fund the fight to:
- Expand access to home dialysis and kidney transplants for all Americans.
- Increase funding for kidney disease research
-Identify and eliminate kidney health disparities
Every gift, no matter how small, is meaningful to me and will ensure that her legacy can live on in this important work. I would be so grateful for your support to help fight kidney disease.
Thank you.
