Someone we love deeply has recently laid her armor down. On June 18, 2026, our beloved Alex "Doni" English lost her long, courageous fight against kidney disease.
 

Alex was a fierce protector and anchor of our family. She was a woman who lived life with incredible style, a quick wit, and a heart so massive she never met a stranger. When faced with the heavy reality of kidney disease, Alex didn’t complain. Instead, she faced every single health challenge with her signature smile, unwavering positivity, and a profound grace that inspired everyone around her. She fought long and she fought hard, holding on for the sake of everyone else for as long as she possibly could.

The journey with kidney disease is often long, exhausting, and overwhelming. The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) stands as a source of hope and comfort for families like ours during their darkest hours.
